Our Story
M.C Candles was born from a blend of passion, creativity, and the influence of the strong, crafty women who raised me. From an early age, I was shown that with enough heart - we’re capable of anything! After exploring various career paths, from hospitality and real estate to the fitness industry, another deep passion of mine, I realized it was time to create something uniquely mine. Something that carried my personal touch and care that I could share with the world.
A key moment in this journey came when I recognized how scents can profoundly influence our emotions and state of mind. My love for aromatherapy and candles led me to experiment with making my own, using recycled containers from candles I had bought over the years to reduce waste. In the kitchen of my tiny 1-bedroom apartment in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, I began creating candles, each one an expression of my love for scents and sustainability.
What started as a passion project soon became something more when I shared my candles with friends and family. Their feedback and support motivated me to refine my creations, and eventually, I saw an opportunity to turn this into a business that could spread joy and warmth to others.
At the heart of M.C Candles is a simple belief: love is the source of all creation. Every smile, every kind gesture, and every quiet moment is infused with love, and through our candles, I hope to bring that same love, warmth, and comfort into your home.

Growing up in Brazil, I was always a curious child, fascinated by the natural world around me. While living in a small town called Maricá in Rio de Janeiro, my grandparents’ backyard was my personal playground, where I would explore every corner and take in the vibrant scents of the plants and flowers. Of all the fragrances, the night-blooming jasmine was my favorite, its sweet aroma filling the air during quiet evenings. This deep connection to nature and scent followed me into adulthood, and it’s one of the reasons I became so passionate about candle-making. I wanted to capture those comforting, nostalgic moments and share them through the candles I create.
My journey has taken me across the globe - from the vibrant city of Sydney, where I lived for 7 years, to the energetic pulse of New York City, which I’ve called home since 2020. Through these experiences, I’ve embraced different cultures and perspectives, shaping my love for creating cozy, comforting spaces. Candles became a constant in my life, helping me connect with myself and the world around me, no matter where I was.
Alongside my love for candles, I also practice Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, which has taught me not only how to be tough and resilient, but also patience, discipline, and the importance of mindfulness. In addition to being a candle maker, I work as a personal trainer, where I encourage others to build both physical and mental strength. These qualities - focus, resilience, and commitment to well-being – are reflected in my approach to crafting candles, ensuring each one is made with care and intention.
Our Candles
At M.C Candles, we take pride in crafting each candle with care, using only the finest natural ingredients. Every candle is made from 100% soy wax, cotton wicks, and high-quality essential oils, ensuring a clean and eco-friendly burn. We even incorporate home-dried flowers into our designs, giving each candle a special, handcrafted touch. Made in small batches, no two candles are exactly alike - each one is uniquely made with love and attention to detail.

Our signature scents include a calming blend of lavender with vanilla, the fresh crispness of white eucalyptus, and the invigorating combination of lemongrass with lime. In addition to these favorites, we also offer seasonal and limited edition scents to celebrate the changing seasons and special occasions.
